If there’s one thing Wyn Hyzer hopes students learn after participating in Will County’s Earth Flag School program, it’s personal responsibility.

“Every little bit can make a difference,” said Hyzer, the county’s environmental educator who heads up the countywide program.

More than 50 schools were recognized Wednesday for their earth-friendly efforts during the Earth Flag School’s annual awards ceremony held at the Rialto Square Theatre in Joliet.

Rep. Larry Walsh Jr., other legislators to hold press conference in Chicago on Illiana Expressway

Author: Editor

State Rep. Larry Walsh Jr. (D-Elwood) will join with other south suburban legislators who support the construction of the Illiana Expressway at a press conference at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18 to protest the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning’s (CMAP) recent analysis that raises points of opposition to the planning and construction of the Illiana Expressway.

“The most recent analysis conducted by CMAP appears to be aimed at holding up a project, due to the fact that in order to be eligible for federal grants that the project is depending on, we need to get CMAP back on board with the original proposal they agreed on,” Walsh said.
